Hematology Oncology

Consultative focus is on patients with deficit and/or excess of the blood-formed elements. The section of hematology offers both diagnostic and therapeutic management intervention on either an inpatient or outpatient basis. Patients with marrow failure, fibrosis, overproduction and myelophthisis can be accommodated.

* clot lysis with fibrinolytic agents
* diagnostic bone marrow aspirate and biopsy
* treatment of lymphoma
* myeloma and leukemia with karyotypic and immunophenotypic
* investigation
* therapy with hematopietic growth factors
* apheresis techniques in conjunction with the department of pathology
* disorders of immunity

An outpatient infusion center offers post-discharge chemotherapy continuity. Emergency responses are also available.
