LEUKEMIA, LYMPHOMA, and MYELOMA

Overview

The Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Myeloma Program offers patients and referring physicians access to a complete range of both diagnostic and therapeutic services for the treatment of hematologic malignancies.

Due to the complicated nature of these diseases, our multidisciplinary approach, with input from experts from a number of specialties, allows us to excel in treating these patients. We ensure that expertly developed care is individualized for each patient and delivered in a well-coordinated and caring manner by incorporating specialists from hematology, medical, radiation and surgical oncology, pathology, the Bone Marrow Transplant Program, radiology, and oncology nursing into a single patient care team.

Appointment Information:

To make an appointment patients should call the program assistant at 919-966-7782
and identify themselves as a patient with a hematologic malignancy. Most new patients will be scheduled to see one of the Hematologists or Medical Oncologists during the Multidisciplinary Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Myeloma Clinic on Wednesdays, though in some situations other times can be arranged.

So that the clinic staff can provide optimal assistance, patients should ask their physician to fax pertinent medical records to our offices at (919) 843-5016 before their initial appointment. These records would include applicable radiology reports, lab reports, and medical summaries. Pathology slides should be sent to Clinical Cancer Center, 101 Manning Drive, G - 36 Gravely Bldg, Chapel Hill, NC 27599 ATTN: Laura Miller.

Please bring the following to your clinic appointment:

* physician's name, address and phone number.
* patient identification card if you have been seen before at UNC
* insurance card and any other related forms required by your insurance company
* list of allergies and medications you are taking with the dosages.
