Adult Leukemia
The outlook for many adults with leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) is getting brighter every day--thanks to major breakthroughs that are being made and tested at the University of Chicago Hospitals and other leading cancer centers. With one of the largest programs in the Chicago area, our leukemia specialists see more than 300 new patients age 16 and older every year.

Medical Center physicians are members of the University of Chicago Physicians Group (UCPG), which includes more than 700 physicians and covers the full array of medical and surgical specialties. UCPG physicians are faculty members of the Pritzker School of Medicine.
These organizations are headed by James L. Madara, MD, chief executive officer for the University of Chicago Medical Center, dean of the Division of Biological Sciences, and vice president for medical affairs. David Hefner serves as president of the Medical Center.
