Cancer Care

Uppermost among IGR's three missions, Medical Care (diagnosis and treatment of cancer) is fulfilled thanks to professional skills, a humane organisation and material means that concur to make the IGR the leading cancer treatment centre in Europe.

The 430 physicians and 750 nurses and care-providers are under the supervision of the Heads of Departments and Services that are organised by speciality (14 speciality units).
These teams dispose of 400 beds and recruit 11,000 new patients, treat 42,000 in-patients and conduct 130,000 consultations per annum.

A Medical Commission composed of elected physicians and qualified renowned experts, together with Management, reflect on medical objectives and patient management.
This Commission also participates in the existing work groups of the IGR, namely the Pain Management Committee, Hospital Restructuring-Renovation Committee and the Conciliation Commission.
Finally, it is actively involved in the key aspects of medical care at the Institute, particularly those concerning admission, reception, and patient support services.
