A Nationally Ranked Cancer Program

UAB provides a comprehensive set of services for those seeking diagnosis and treatment options for cancer. UAB also has a comprehensive set of cancer prevention and control for those at high risk of developing cancer.

The UAB Cancer Program has been ranked one of the best in the country in U.S. News & World Report.

UAB Patients can be seen by specialists skilled in hematology/oncology (treatment of disorders of the blood and cancer in adults), radiation oncology (cancer treatment involving radiation therapy), and surgical oncology (cancer treatment requiring surgery). Cancer specialists work as teams with numerous other departments providing care for all cancers. In addition, the UAB Cancer Center is a NCI designated Comprehensive cancer center with world-renowned researchers and specialized clinics that offer an interdisciplinary approach to cancer care, allowing patients to see three cancer specialists in one visit.
